The Second Edition of Hadithi Zetu (Our Stories), the newsletter of Edmund Rice Volunteers and Immersions Victoria and Tasmania, is now available. This edition carries news of the KNM Project Tanzania, based in Arusha, which assists single mothers and vulnerable girls with education & training by supporting re-entry into formal education, vocational training and operation of a collective business. KNM also works in advocacy and promotion of women’s rights. KNM stands for ‘kundi la nguvu mamas’ which translates as ‘group of strong mothers’.  Visit the KNM website by clicking here on http://quaerere.org/stu/. The KNM project has links with Edmund Rice Sinon Secondary School in Arusha.

This edition also features an account by Jennifer Earle (a teacher at St Mary’s College, Hobart) of the ‘immersion’ experience of East Timorese teacher Francisco in visiting Hobart. Jennifer is working as a volunteer with Comunidade Edmund Rice in East Timor.
