The Third Annual Zimele Foundation Dinner is to be held at St Kevin’s College, Moonga Road, Toorak, on the evening of Saturday, 25 June. The Zimele Foundation supports health and education projects at Ruben Centre and Br Beausang School in Nairobi, Kenya. Special guests from Br Beausang School at this year’s Zimele Dinner will be Br Francis Otieno (Principal), Ms Catherine Gathogo (Head Teacher, Secondary) and Ms Eva Wanyaga (Principal, Primary School). Solidarity Walk – Parade College, Preston Campus
The Foundation thanks the staff and students of Parade College, Preston Campus, who have been fundraising over the past two weeks for the Mary Rice Day Care Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. Edmund Rice Solidarity Fortnight concluded today with a Solidarity Walk and BBQ. News is that the staff won the staff v student Soccer match. Edmund Rice Dinner – Brisbane
The Edmund Rice Dinner at the Brisbane Convention Centre last Saturday evening was an amazing success. A crowd of 600 filled the function room where they were engaged by inspiring addresses from Br Damian Price, legendary Rugby League coach Wayne Bennett and CEO of the NAB Cameron Clyne. MC for the evening was former Wallabies’ captain, Paul McLean.
Brisbane schools were well represented by present and past staff as well as by old boys and partners. We are also grateful to the considerable corporate support given to the cause. Auctioneer Brendan Tutt lead the generous guests to ensure that the evening was very successful in raising funds for Christian Brothers’ overseas and Australian ministries for the disadvantaged.
Congratulations to Anthony Ryan of the Province Development Office in Brisbane and his generous supporters for this memorable achievement.
