Congratulations to Patrick O’Brien (Chair, 500 Supporters’ Group), members of the 500 Supporters’ Group committee and to the Group’s many friends and supporters on a most successful AFL Luncheon held on Tuesday this week in the Olympic Room at the MCG. A record attendance of almost 400 contributed to what was financially the Supporter Group’s most successful luncheon ever in support of health, education and development projects in some of the most impoverished parts of East Africa. Many guests are regular attendees and their ongoing support and spirit of camaraderie have grown from the pioneering work of Mr Noel O’Brien.
The Foundation is deeply indebted to Master of Ceremonies, Leon Weigard OAM, who has generously hosted these functions for many years. The Foundation is very grateful to Guest of Honour, Brad Scott, coach of the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League and to Special Guest, Scot Palmer, former Herald Sun journalist and sports commentator.
We look forward to the pre Melbourne Cup Luncheon, which will be held in October. For photos of this week’s AFL Luncheon visit http://www.flickr.com/photos/erfoundation/sets/72157625201281632/
