ERFA supports a number of programs in Australia (www.erf.org.au/programs/australia) and in 2020 we will be supporting for the first time, the Edmund Rice Flexible Learning Centres (FLC) network here in Australia.
The concept is about providing real opportunities through access to further education/training and eventually jobs for disadvantaged students. These students, with over 30% of students at our FLC’s being from Indigenous backgrounds, are very much living on the margins and many of them are on their final chance for education after falling through the cracks of mainstream education.
The Transition Program will provide a structure for these students to make plans for their future beyond school, linking with educational institutions, local business and mentors to ensure a pathway to success is created.
