Raising Funds for East Africa

On Wednesday 14 September over 200 people attended the St Joseph’s College, Geelong 2011 Fashion Show, held at the impressive venue “The Pier” in Geelong. This year the fashion show attracted some big name labels to grace the catwalk. These included Pearls & Roses Bridal, Just Add Sugar, Roger David, Ouch Ink, Muse, Jaani, Eclectica, Tonik, Emblazon and Urban Chic. Guests enjoyed canapés whilst browsing some of the retail stores, before moving to the Catwalk area, where MC Angie Hilton introduced the Fashion Houses that dazzled the audience.

On behalf of the Foundation, Br Bill Wilding (Foundation Board Chair) addressed the guests, thanking them for their support and reminding them of the plight of thousands in Africa. The Fashion Show is fast becoming one of the major calendar events in Geelong. The 2011 show certainly lived up to that reputation. Funds raised from the night will benefit education and community health programs at Ruben Centre, Nairobi and Edmund Rice Sinon Secondary School, Tanzania. The Foundation is most grateful to the St Joseph’s community and in particular to the St Joseph’s Parents and Friends and the many fashion houses that sponsored the event. Our thanks also to David Formosa, Development Manager at Joseph’s, who co-ordinated the many people and groups involved and who provided this report.
